comparing the old and dead battery, this is much better at least now i am able to use my labtop without the electricity cable butttt it does not perform good as the original battery. for short usage it is ok, but if you are looking for a good performance i guess changing the laptop is inevitable.

Thanks to the many 5-star reviews for this particular 6-cell Newtrent battery, I ordered one too. The processing time was a bit long ([...] has very quick processing time), so was the shipping time because I chose free shipping instead. This batt. fits my HP Pavilion dv6000 very well and it came well packed and protected. After it came, I charged it for 12 hours before initial use.
I really thought I could give this batt. a very high rating, say, between 4 and 5 stars, until I have done a time-test three (3) separate times. May I share with you my experience.
Among the three (3) batt. plans on my HP dv60000, they are 1) High Performance, 2) Power Saver, and 3) Balanced. I used “Balanced” to do the time test and believed that would be a fair indicator.
Test #1 (June 5th 2010)

During the above tests, as I said, “Balanced” power plan was used in each case, and DVD/CD tray was NOT, repeat, NOT, used — I only e-mailed, did some Excel, and surfed the net, just to see how long this batt. really last me.
I’m disappointed this batt. could last only 1.5 hours for these simple tasks. A HP batt. costs twice as much as this Newtrent, so becuase of the price factor, I give this product a 2-STAR rating.
If this baby could last me 2.0 hours, I would be happy and would have given a much higher rating.
I’m returning this baby for an exchange tomorrow, thinking perhaps the one I have received is substandard. If my new exchanged unit performs better, I will update the review and change the rating. I try to be fair to Newtrent and follow consumers. Thank you for reading my review.

UPDATE on June 15th time-test on the 2nd batt. ordered:
Because they don’t allow an exchange, I returned this batt. but order another one.
Processing and shipping time were faster this time around but the 2nd batt. lasted about 1.5 hours ONLY: it has produced almost identical results like the 1st one!
Again, I used “Balanced” power plan for the 2nd batt. and it lasted only 1.5 hours without using the DVD tray and used only simple tasks like e-mail, Excel, and net surfing.

I don’t think the problem is my HP dv6000 — it’s this New Trent batt.! I’m being generous to give this batt. a 2-star ranking due to the price factor — it probably deserves only a 1-star! It’s funny how New Trent the company attempted to encourage me to give this batt. a 5-Star rating!! Sorry — I honest can NOT do so — I can’t screw other consumers!
I am hoping to find an alternative and to return this 2nd batt. Honestly I don’t see how some cheer leaders of this batt. could give it a 4- or 5-star.
I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO MY FRIENDS, UNLESS 1.5 HOURS RUN TIME IS ACCEPTABLE to them!! I’m very fair with New Trent and have been objective about this batt. IF YOU WANT A LONGER RUN TIME, YOU SHOULD TRY THE 12-CELL VERSION. Thank you for reading my review!

I can’t say much about this battery other than it is great. I’ve had it about two months now and it usually last me about 3-4 hours. It worked better than my OEM did when I got this computer new two years ago. Definitely buy another one.

I review many batteries for my laptop and I am so glad that I choose this one. The battery fit prefectly. Let it charged overnight and unplugged it. It ran my laptop at full power for almost 4 hours before laptop turned off, that is awesome. I let the battery stay on charger for 12 hours while using laptop and then unplugged it. The next day I was able to use the laptop for over 3 hours without plugging it in. Big Thumbs up:)

The product was just exactly as advertised. The best part is that the battery was a perfect fit. It seems a lot of after market non-OEM replacement batteries tend not to fit, so I was worried. The seller was also excellent. Arrived quickly, and the price was right. I would recommend this seller and line of replacement batteries to others without reservations.
