I ordered the chord on April 3, 2009- today, September 7, 2009 after months of issues, having to be placed above the laptop to work, etc, the chord literally sparked then flamed. It was scary, loud and my guests and I screamed- my foot got burnt. I had been in the middle of homework so I don’t know what I’m going to do now. My laptop is about to die.

It runs hot. I wouldn’t use it in an area that wasn’t ventilated. It is much lighter than the OEM charger. Just seems cheap.
Edit: it failed after four months. Not recommended.

So, when plugged in it runs, but when you unplug it and the computer shuts down immediately.
It doesn’t actually charge the battery, though the power meter says it’s charging.
So, this product has been okay for the past 2 weeks, but I expect it to break in a few months.

While the Dell Precision M90 is listed as one of the models this charger is supposed to be compatible with, the M90 requires a 130W power supply to charge the battery. If the system detects a power supply of lower wattage it will not charge the battery or run at full speed.

I purchased this AC power code about 6 months ago and it first worked great, but it stopped charging the battery after a month or so. I am guessing that I got what I paid for… Dell’s original AC power code is costly and it is also not reliable.
